This season is shaping up to be an intriguing one in the NBA for Orlando. Led by young talent that have bought into Steve Clifford's system while also counting on veteran role players like Nikola Vucevic, D.J. Augustin, and Terrence Ross as heavy hitters this year; their results should make for a competitive team in the East Division that could even contend for playoff berths.
This matchup with the Spurs will provide an interesting examination of Orlando Magic. They play at one of the slowest paces in the league, which can both benefit and hinder them as a shooting team (they ranked 17th last season in field goal percentage). The Magic can exploit this by running up-tempo in transition for easy baskets while simultaneously showing that they can defend at a higher level as well.
Victor Wembanyama of San Antonio remains questionable due to an elbow injury and could miss this game, with Chris Paul or Devin Vassell replacing him should that occur. Otherwise Dominick Barlow should take over.
