Even with an unblemished record, LSU looks to keep their place in the College Football Playoff rankings against border rival Arkansas. LSU faces an uphill battle as Arkansas boasts a solid record and could contend for an SEC West title; thus ensuring an exciting contest. This game always provides plenty of excitement!
LSU's offense features both an effective running game and passing attack that makes defenses hard-pressed to contain. Furthermore, they use multiple formations to capitalize on player strengths and create big plays in open field situations - not to mention generate pressure on quarterbacks while minimizing turnovers.
This game will feature an LSU defensive front anchored by Saivion Smith, Mekhi Wingo and Harold Perkins that performed admirably against Mississippi State and should match up well against KJ Jefferson and Arkansas' offense. However, their front seven must become more consistent against SEC level competition.
Arkansas defense has struggled against top teams. BYU scored over 30 points against them and must up its efforts. Arkansas may fall behind the pack in SEC defensive efficiency rankings if it continues this way.
Hogs' secondary has much room for improvement, yet their run defense has shown some positive trends this season. Rocket Sanders has been outstanding this year and will need to use both his speed and strength against an LSU front.
