STEPHENVILLE, Texas -- The 2024-25 men's basketball schedule continues Saturday night when Tarleton State hosts Seattle U at Wisdom Gym for their game that will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The Tarleton Texans (10-16 overall, 5-6 WAC).
This game marks a second game in three days for the Texans, as they lost at Abilene Christian last Thursday and Grand Canyon on Sunday - both home defeats for them this season. Seattle, on the other hand, are mired in a three-game losing streak and suffered their inaugural road loss this year against Antelopes; Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe led with 20 points, nine rebounds, and one assist for Redhawks during this defeat.
The Redhawks average 72.8 points per game on offense this season; at home, their performance has been even better; scoring 77.5 per contest. Still 1.6 more points than they allow, however. They connect on an average of 7.1 three-pointers every game as well.
Tarleton State has always prided themselves on their strong defensive performance and currently rank sixth nationally for steals with 10.0 per game, giving up only 7.4 turnovers on average per game in turnovers allowed. Their defense should hold up well against Redhawks teams which tend to go on scoring runs from time to time, as well as having an outstanding record against teams from Big Sky Conference; betting over is likely.
